to have when I finish playing antworten

JACKSONVILLE Jonah Williams Jersey , Fla. (AP)Malik Jackson thanked the San Francisco 49ers for giving Jacksonville’s defense an ”awakening.” A rude awakening, really. The Jaguars (10-5) allowed 369 yards, including 131 on the ground, 44 points and 10 third-down conversions in a humbling loss on the West Coast. All of it, Jackson said, will provide motivation for the defense moving forward. ”If you don’t learn anything from your failures, then they’re truly that: Just failures,” the Pro Bowl defensive tackle said Wednesday. ”We’re going to fix it. That’s what good teams do. … I know we’re going to be a better team for it.” Jacksonville’s lackluster performance against the 49ers created some concerns about what had been the league’s top-ranked defense. Jimmy Garoppolo used a variety of misdirection and bootlegs to pick apart Jacksonville’s secondary with quick throws, and the Jaguars were gouged on the ground for the fourth consecutive week. San Francisco’s success prompted a heated exchange between Jackson and cornerback Aaron Colvin on the sideline in the first half and caused several more meltdowns late , including a costly, 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty by Jackson in the closing minutes. ”It was disappointing because I understood the damage I did to the team,” Jackson said. ”I try to go out there and play with high intensity , play with a high motor and play with dog relentlessness, and I let the best get to me and I let my emotions get the most of me and pretty much lose the game for my team. ”I’m glad it happened now. I’m glad I can check myself now and see what I need to do better and just get better with my attitude and my leadership.” The Jaguars have a chance to rebound from the loss in the regular-season finale at Tennessee (8-7) on Sunday. It’s an opportunity to potentially knock the Titans out of playoff contention and rebuild some momentum heading into the franchise’s first home playoff game since the 1999 season. Defense has been the backbone of the team’s resurgence. Jacksonville has held eight of 15 opponents to 10 or fewer points, which is one reason players insist last week’s game was more of an anomaly than cause for concern. ”We always want to play great,” Pro Bowl cornerback A.J. Bouye said. ”Sixteen games in the NFL, everything’s not going to be perfect. We’re not always perfect as a team or even on defense. One thing about it is we always bounce back and we learn from our mistakes. ”We’d rather it happen now that in January when the playoffs come.” Jacksonville is locked into the No. 3 seed in the AFC playoffs and will host Baltimore, Buffalo, the Los Angeles Chargers or Tennessee on Jan. 6 or 7. The Jags don’t want to head into that sold-out home game with consecutive losses. They haven’t dropped back-to-back games all season, showing resiliency after every loss. Coach Doug Marrone has no plans to rest starters against the Titans, saying the team is ”100 percent all in on winning this football game.” Defensive players welcomed the mantra, especially after their latest performance. ”We’re the best defense in the National Football League, and everybody knows it,” safety Tashaun Gipson said. ”It’s not about going out there and getting back on track. It’s really just about going out there and being us again. I’m very confident that we’re going to do it.” When told his team actually dropped to second in scoring and third in yards Germaine Pratt Jersey , Gipson responded: ”How did we drop to third?” Well, the debacle in San Francisco did it. ”We’ll go back (to No. 1) this week,” he said. ”Slight work. No worries.” — CLEVELAND (AP) — Baker Mayfield stepped onto the stage and took a handoff from former Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar. At least he got one postseason trophy.Mayfield, who finished second to New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley in voting for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, was named Cleveland’s top professional athlete at the Greater Cleveland Sports Awards on Wednesday night.Following a season in which he broke the league’s rookie touchdown record and made the Browns relevant again, Mayfield was selected over Indians All-Stars Corey Kluber and Jose Ramirez and Browns cornerback Denzel Ward.LeBron James was not a finalist despite leading the Cavaliers to their fourth NBA Finals last June — a month before the superstar left for the second time as a free agent. If James crushed the feelings of Cleveland fans, Mayfield helped soothe them by leading the beloved Browns to a 7-8-1 record following an 0-16 season. The No. 1 overall pick in last year’s draft, Mayfield began the season as a backup to Tyrod Taylor before coming off the bench in Week 3 and leading the Browns to a win over the New York Jets to snap Cleveland’s 19-game winless streak. His performance last season has Browns fans convinced a first Super Bowl visit isn’t far away.“That should be the expectation,” Mayfield said backstage. “It shouldn’t be that the whole town goes crazy over one win on a Thursday. It should be the expectation that we need to be competing in the playoffs every year.”He was introduced by Kosar, who didn’t even bother opening the winner’s envelope.Last week, Mayfield finished as a runner-up to Barkley, who received more votes from a panel of 50 media members for the AP’s rookie award.“I’ll use it as motivation , but the more important thing is winning football games,” Mayfield said. “Yeah, it’s more frustrating than anything because Saquon, that’s my guy, and he’ll hold it over my head forever. But you know what? I’ll use that as motivation, and I’ll be better in the long run.”Mayfield owes Barkley a chain necklace for winning the award, and said he’ll use the jewelry to make fun of Barkley’s massive quadriceps.“It’ll say ‘Quads’ on it, not ‘Sa-quads’ but just ‘Quads,'” Mayfield said. “The two extra letters in there cost a little bit extra money, so we’ll stick with just ‘Quads.'”Mayfield was featured along with numerous football Hall of Famers in the NFL’s 100th-anniversary commercial, which aired during the Super Bowl.In the spot, Brady handed Mayfield his Super Bowl rings Renell Wren Jersey , which Clevelanders hope is a symbolic passing of the torch.“Obviously, being a part of something like that is very special,” Mayfield said. “Some of the names in that, if you told me last year that I would be a part of a commercial like that, I would’ve told you you’re absolutely lying. So to be able to be a part of a commercial with legends like that and actually be next to Tom Brady, no matter what you think about it, that’s the greatest of all time.“To be able to actually hold those rings — and they are heavy, those were the real rings, it’s something fun. Getting to talk to him a little bit and just get to know him and just be around like that, his presence is something that you feel as soon as he walks into a room. That’s the kind of stuff you admire and I want to have when I finish playing.”The annual black-tie event at the downtown Renaissance Hotel brought out some of the city’s biggest sports celebrities, including new Browns coach Freddie Kitchens, general manager John Dorsey and Cavaliers legend Austin Carr.Former Indians All-Star catcher Sandy Alomar Jr. received a lifetime achievement award. A six-time All-Star , Alomar, who currently serves as the team’s first-base coach, got choked up when talking about his manager, Mike Hargove.“I’m honored to be a part of Cleveland,” said Alomar, who was traded to the Indians from San Diego in 1989. “Cleveland has been the best thing that ever happened to me. Cleveland is about humble people. And I love to make a difference here. That trade changed my life forever.”
